Abstract

Blocking out aggregation: Triblock copolymers consisting of a central β-sheet polypeptide block with the repeating [(AlaGly)3GluGly] n sequence and poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) of Mn = 750 g mol-1 were prepared and the assembly properties in the solid state were investigated. Attachment of PEG prevented the macroscopic aggregation of the β-sheet polypeptide portion and, instead, resulted in the formation of well-defined fibrils. (Figure Presented).
