Abstract
Appendiceal adenocarcinoma (AC) frequently metastasizes to the peritoneum, yet the mechanisms underlying this transition remain poorly understood. In this issue of Developmental Cell , Mahmoud et al. 1 establish a patient-derived tumor organoid (PDTO) biobank and xenograft model that recapitulate AC progression, reveal shifts in cellular states, and identify potential therapeutic targets.
