Samenvatting
Hypersensitivity reactions (HSRs) are not uncommon in chemotherapy. In some situations antihistaminics and corticosteroids may be used in the prevention of HSRs. In this case report, a breast cancer patient with a severe HSR on high dose cyclophosphamide, thiotepa and carboplatin (tCTC) is described, who was able to continue tCTC therapy successfully after use of prophylactic oral cromoglycate. It was concluded that cromoglycate may be useful in the prophylaxis of chemotherapy-induced HSRs and should be further studied in this setting.
